The Darussalam Motorcycle Association (PEMODA) once again organised a football friendly against the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Collage in the capital. The friendly was aimed at fostering in closer relations between the two entities, as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle between its members.
The match, played at the SOAS collage football field, had ended up with a draw after the two team had struggled to gain the upper hand. However after a fierce struggle for domination, Jifri Abdul Rahman had scored the only goal for PEMODA in the dying minutes of the first half after breaking away from the defence and beating the keeper.
The SOASC team did not give up easily though, and they had struck back with a vengeance. The second half of the game, saw an entirely new PEMODA team. SOAS team remained defiant even through the face of adversity. Their efforts and defiance was rewarded in the 55th minute, when Nor Mohammad Azreen bin Hj Nordin stunned the goalie when he had forced the ball through the goalie’s hand and into the back of the net. With the game tied at one all, and SOAS team had renewed their attacked and had pressed on.
However the fresh PEMODA team had kept the tired SOAS team at bay, keeping their attacks at arms length. Towards the end of the match, the two teams battled it out, at each of their opponents goals. Attacks and counterattacks were very frequent, as the two teams were desperate to score the winning goal. The final whistle blew, and SOASC and PEMODA had to be contented with a one all draw.
PEMODA will be organising more friendly matches between government bodies as well as associations, in a bid to promote healthy lifestyle between its members as well as the community at large.
