SMJA holds 2 in one event

Sultan Mohammad Jamalul Alam Secondary school yesterday held a  two in one event, a Hari Raya celebration and a teacher’s day celebration.

The event had started with a Hajat prayers to invoke Allah’s blessings for students taking their up coming O’level examinations which was held at the Jame Asri Mosque in Kiulap.

The Hari Raya celebrations and teacher’s day celebration was later commenced back at the school’s compound, where the concept of the this year’s hari raya celebration was open house, where students and teachers were to hold ‘open houses’ in their classrooms.

Teachers and students then visited each class rooms for the open house, where light meals and refreshments were held. Yesterday’s events saw students in their traditional malay costumes instead of uniforms to further enhance the Hari Raya atmosphere in the school.

Due to the old malay house concept architecture of the school, the Hari Raya celebrations gave a nostalgic atmosphere to the festivities. Students and teachers intermingled during the celebration and took time off work and study to enjoy the festive season together.

BANDAR SERI BEGWAN Khamis 30 September – Bagi menyemarkan lagi Hari Raya aidil Fitri Sekolah menengah Sultan Mohammad Jamalul Alam Secondary (SMJA) telah mengadakan sambutan Hari Raya Aidilfitri, yang berkonsepkan rumah terbuka.

Acara tersebut juga diselajurkan dengan sambutan HAri Guru. Acara bermula dengan sembahyang hajat berjemaah bagi penutut-penutntu yang akan melangsungkan perperiksaan ‘O’level di  MAsjid Jame Asr.

Seterusunya acara berlangsung di Sekolah Menegah SMJA. Dengan konsep rumah terbuka, penutut-penutut dan guru guru telah menghiaskan bilik darjah dengan dekorasi hari raya, dan tidak terlupa pula menghidangkan makanan utnuk dihidang kepada para tetamu.

Ibu bapa serta penjaga juga turut di jemput bagi memeriahkan lagi suasana hari raya disekolah tersebut.

Oleh kerana Sekolah Menengah SMJA masih mengekalkan konsep reka bentuk rumah kampong halam, maka sambutan hari raya di sekolah tersebut adalah sangat nostalgic apatah lagi melihat guru-guru serta penutut-penutut berpakai baju melayu dan bergembira disuasana hari raya.

Hajat Prayers for SOAS students

The Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddein collage yesterday held a hajat prayer and recital of Surah Yassin in a bid to invoke ALLAH’s blessings for students who are facing their end of year exams.

Student from the secondary 3 and five as well as year 8 who are taking their big exams namely,  the  ‘O’levels  and the new Student Progress Examination (SPE)for year 8 students.

SOASC Principal Pg Hj Zahari Pg Hj Ahmad said that the hajat prayers is part of the collage’s activity where it is held prior to big exams. He said that by holding the mass hajat prayers with students, teachers and parents and the recital of the Surah Yassin, it also instills a spiritual and religious aspect of learning to the students.

He said that as Muslims we must never forget to pray and invoke ALLAH’s blessings upon our activities and daily life. Students must learn of this at an early age so that the Islamic philosophy will be strong in their hearts and mind, not only in school but also outside school, and the years to come.

Present for the Hajat prayers were the Collage’s Administration as well as teachers and parents. The ceremony was held at the School’s auditorium.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN Khamis 30 September–  Bagi meminta pertolongan ALLAH dalam menghadapi perperiksaan yang akan berlangsung, Maktab Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien telah mengadakan sembahyang hajat dan bacaan surah Yassin di Dewan Utama Maktab tersebut.

Majlis tersebut telah dihadiri oleh Guru-guru, Ibu Bapa dan juga penutut-penutut tahun 8, menengah 3 dan menengah 5.

Menurut Pengetua Makatab SOAS Pg Hj Zahari Pg Hj Ahmad mengatakan bahawa acara tersebut telah berulang kali dijalankan dimaktab tersebut apatah lagi semasa perperiksaan yang besar akan berlangsung, seperti, ‘O’levels dan perperiksaan yang baru bagi penutut-penutut tahun 8 iaitu ‘Student Progress Examination’ (SPE).

Beliau juga mengatakan bahawa acara ugama seperti majlis sembahyang hajat dan membaca surah yassin dengan secara tidak langsung juga akan menuai sikap keugamaan pada para penutut. Mereka haruslah ingat bahawa kita mestilah sentiasa meminta pertolongan dari Tuhan dan berdoa untuk perbuatan kita seharian.

Selian dari usaha doa itu adalah penting, dan kita haruslah mengingatinya. Ini adalah salah satu ajaran disebalik mengadakan acara keugamaan seperti sembahyang hajat berjemaah ini.

Penuntut-penuntut akan menghadapai perperiksaan hujung tahun tidak lama lagi, dan sekarang sedang sibuk berulang kaji dan membuat persiapan.
