Staff Nurse Hjh Norzanah bte Hj Bagul and Masni bte Hj Awang Salim will commence their attachment in the National University Hospital, Singapore. Following the two staff nurses, Hjh Hashimah Hj Harry and Noorlizamhayati bte Hj Mohd Noor who are already attending their attachment in Singapore.
The nurses from the Accident and Emergecy department, RIPAS Hospital will undergo a 3 month clinical attachment where 2 months will be based in an adult emergency department and a month in KK Children’s Emergency.
The adult emergency departments involved in the collaboration are Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore General Hospital, National University Hospital and Changi General Hosipital. The clinical attachments are part of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Health of both Brunei and Singapore where it establishes a framework for greater collaboration between health care establishments in both countries to promote and strengthen postgraduate medical training and research.
The purpose of the program is to provide an opportunity for our nurses to interact, discuss and learn about emergency nursing as practiced in an overseas healthcare system.
Amongst its objectives are to provide an opportunity for nurses to interact with emergency nurses in adult and paediatric emergency departments in Singapore, to understand the professional practice of emergency nurses in Singapore, to further develop the ability to communicate with people of other culture and ethnic groups, identify safe and efficient working practices, as well as acquiring understanding of the trend and development of health care services in Singapore.
