Knowing the traffic rules and regulations are essential for postmen to better carry out their jobs in a more efficient and effective manner. This was stated by Inspector Yahya bin Mundim from the Royal Brunei Police Force Department of Traffic Control during a briefing on road safety regulations to postmen held at the Mail Processing Centre in Berakas.
He said that it is important that postmen are aware of the various road safety regulations that are implemented in the country, in particular the illegal modifications of vehicles as well as speed limits, and general road safety especially for those using small scooters in delivering mail.
Sixteen postmen from all four districts took part in the 4 day Postman workshop program organised by the Postal Services Department where it aims to enhance the services of postmen as well as their awareness on working ethics as well as empower them with knowledge that will motivate them to be more effective and effective in carrying out their daily duties.
Apart from the Road safety workshop, participants will also be given briefings on working ethics, motivational talk on duties as a postman, briefing on postman duties and responsibilities as well as a talk on the misuse of drugs by the Narcotic Control Bureau.
